The CA-FA Wireless Smoke Alarm Kit pairs a UL-listed First Alert photoelectric smoke alarm (model SM210) with a CentralAlert MultiAlerts sensor (CA-UX) on a custom mounting plate — built for people who are hard of hearing. The moment the alarm detects smoke, it sounds its own 85 dB alarm and sends a wireless alert to every receiver in your CentralAlert system: loud audio, a bright strobe, and a bed-shaker vibration that can wake you from deep sleep.
This kit is for homes that need a new smoke alarm. If you already have working alarms, you only need a MultiAlerts Universal Sensor (CA-UX) to connect them to your system — the CA-FA simply builds the alarm and the sensor into one mounted unit.
The First Alert alarm runs on a 10-year sealed battery — no battery changes for the life of the alarm, with an end-of-life warning when it's time to replace it. The CentralAlert sensor uses 2 AA batteries (included, about a 3-year life) and ships pre-set to fire-alarm mode, so pairing works just like any CA-UX. Follow NFPA guidance and your local codes for how many alarms your home needs.
Requires a CentralAlert receiver (CA-360II, CA-RXII, CA-PXII, or CA-CX; sold separately) to deliver whole-home alerts. With a CA-360II and a Caregiver Connect subscription, a smoke alert can also notify up to 4 caregivers by SMS and email.
